Inspirational Sunsets
I live in the desert, Las Vegas to be exact. I can see the whole valley stretch out before me and am able to enjoy the vast expanse of sky and mountains. I have a thing for the colors of sunrises and sunsets. The colors the changing light creates, the way the world looks without the blinding glare of the sun, I love it all! My latest painting was inspired from my love of clouds, colors, and that perfect moment.

Sphinx Twins Progress Report

Buttons and Brooches!
The evils of the craft store sucked me in and now I am making buttons/brooches. While cruising through the isles I came across a bag of 1.5in. disks and they screamed "I would look great as a brooch!". I was able to walk away from them the first time, but then I had to go back the next day for other supplies and no longer able to withstand their cuteness or power. Of course I had to buy pin clasps and epoxy too. I must say I am having the best time making these little buggers! I have been enjoying wearing some of them to work as well. I get a kick out of the people who don't believe I made it. Keep checking in to my Etsy store for the latest and greatest!

Books, Poetry, Art
Someone has been leaving mysterious paper sculptures in the UK, made in large part out of paper and books, with some extra materials here and there. No one knows who the artist is, but they are trying to spread a message, apparently, about the power of words, art, and imagination. Pretty darned cool.

Oops! Prototype Update for Artomat
Well, the prototype didn't fit in the box it needed to for mass production. After some minor adjustments, these are the newest prototypes for submission for approval for the Art-o-Mat project. Sigh.
I created these beauties with a little gesso, colored pencil and coated them in polycrylic for protection. Fingers crossed!

Art-o-mat Update and Sample

Last month I wrote a post about the Art-o-Mat, the vintage cigarette machines repurposed to selling art for $5.00. I have had a lot on my plate in combination with difficulty trying to find the right size wood for this particular project. With a friends help I finally have the makings for my sample piece to send in for jurying. Now to design a 2x2 placard for description of product to be placed in machine and we should be rolling!
What do you think? Would you pay $5 for a 2x3 piece of my work?

Ceramic Results
As promised, I am here to report in on the wonders that came out of the glaze kiln. My favorite pieces ever and the results of my first round of porcelain pendants came out of tis firing. I am so excited and proud of the results. Definitely some food for thought on some of the results I got, but that was the point on some of my (not pictured) creations.
