Artist Discovery and Upcoming Show

Last night as I was picking up my painting from the Zombie show at Blackbird Studios and while I was there I had the opportunity to meet artist Su Limbert. She was bringing in her pieces for her upcoming show starting this First Friday Nov. 4, 2011. I found her to be amazing and her work is sensational! I love her pieces because of their folktale aesthetics and animal themes. If you're in the Las Vegas area, stop by and check it out! Check out more of her work at her Etsy shop Prettyville.

20/20 Cure Presented by Apartment Therapy

Yay! It's back and couldn't have come at a better time! The Cure is based on the book

Apartment Therapy: The Eight-Step Home Cure written by Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan over at Apartment Therapy.com Ever since I began this journey and process of the cure  3 years ago, I have done it every spring and fall since and swear by it. The 20/20 stands for 20 minutes of 20 days and your house will feel rejuvenated as well as you will feel refreshed since the process is in bite sizes steps and completely manageable.

What is the Cure? Well it is a way to cleanse, transform and purge your house every spring and fall. Maxwell walks you through reorganizing your house through a series of systematic steps and does it in bite size pieces so that conquering your house demons is a snap. What I like so much about the cure is not only the system to which you cleanse, but the thought process involved as well. For instance, one of the days you look at your books. They fill shelves in your house and collect dust, but how often do you really interact with them? In a lot of ways they are old thoughts and you need to be able to purge some of them in order to make room for new thoughts. I feel this way about my growing collection of art work around my house. I feel very suffocated by old thoughts with so much of my art hanging around the house.

Please join me in tackling the 20/20! I'd love to hear about your progress and ah-ha moments that come along the way. I'm off to do DAY ONE!

Had to Share!

I was just catching up on some of my blogs to find this post on "House of Turquoise" on her discovery of BHG article on an amazing room transformation. I think I just found my bedroom inspiration! These are al my current favorite color combinations. It would be impossible to wake up in a bad mood in this room, it is so cheery and absolutely stunning. I have been looking for an idea to finish off the transition from the two colors I have in my bathroom and the stencil shown in the sitting area might just do the trick!

Thanks for letting me share!

Is there a song right now you can't get out of your head right now that is inspiring what you do?

Here Kitty Kitty!

I just added a new painting to my shops and it seriously makes me giggle. When I painted this I was having the worst time getting the eyes right. In the mess of my studio, I conveniently had a roll of electrical tape sitting next to me. Tired of look at my frustration, I slapped a piece of tape across of her eyes. The humor only struck me later, like "Who's looking at her eyes anyhow?". So then I thought it would be fun to expand on the idea and label her eyes. Let me know what you think!

Been a Busy Girl!

My life has been crazy lately with all the running around I have been doing. My head is swimming with all the deadlines I have going on right now personally and professionally. Oy-Vey!

I thought I'd share some sneak peeks of something I am finishing up. I have to paint the border edge and varnish it. I have another one in the works that I am chewing on the idea of a floral pattern in the back. I feel it is not complete, but unsure of what is missing. I'll set it aside and know the idea will hit me when I am in the shower. Some how that is where my greatest ideas come from! It might be because of the theme song for Indiana Jones playing in my head. ;)

Worked on this while catching up on Greys Anatomy!! By Constantly Constance (Taken with instagram)

I am looking forward to making prints of this one. I think it will be perfect for a little girl's room. The colors are so cheery and fun! How can you resist primary colors?!
