Clay Arts Vegas - Swag

Clay Arts Vegas (CAV) is the ceramic studio that I do the web design for as well as assist with the social media sites and run the online store. I regretfully had to step down as a cofounder, but am still extremely involved with supporting the growing business. I am proud to have been apart of Clay Arts Vegas inception and look forward to seeing it flourish in the Arts District here in Las Vegas.

I am proud to announce that CAV just got in the coolest swag merchandise! I bought a tank top yesterday and am loving it! Please show your support by purchasing a t-shirt or tank top from our online store or stopping by lay Arts Vegas if you're in the Las Vegas area.

I am wearing mine and ready to get dirty with some clay!

Sweater Project Proposal

Now that I have all the pieces collected for my sweater attempt, I thought I would share with you my vision. The first photo is of what the finished product is supposed to look like and the second is of the yarn I am to use to create it. I spent HOURS finding a simple pattern that I thought I would be able to accomplish on my first attempt. The pattern is called Lady Kina by Muriela. (fingers crossed)

I'd love to hear from you how you thought the pattern went for you or any tips or tricks I should know!

Color Palette - Harmony

Always being inspired by the world around. . .

The luscious yarn can be found over at Alcidina on Etsy.

Yarnathon - Helping a Yarn Addict

As I mentioned in my last post, I am setting a goal to be able to knit myself a sweater! I'm working my best to improve my skills, patience, and know how to accomplish this great feat. Knitting a sweater takes quite a bit of yarn and I just ordered some amazing and beautiful yarn. I would like to continue on this path of making magic, but the best yarns are pricey. This is where I would like your help!

Over at Eat.Sleep.Knit, they have a Yarnathon where you get cool prizes and rewards for yards of yarn bought. I'll earn $5 in store credit any time a new customer places an order after following a link from my site. I'll also earn 5 yards of Yarnathon yardage for every new person who simply visits their site from my blog!

Click the link in the side bar to help me with my Yarnathon!
Thank you so much for all the love and support!

This is my dream yarn that I am saving up my pennies for! Four skeins makes a sweater!

Ravelry Projects and Updates

I hurt my knee about a month ago and am still dealing with doctors visits and physical therapy. Since I have been immobile and need to spend hours icing my knee, this has given me plenty of time to sit and create. I have not been inspired to draw or paint (feeling quite guilty about it too), but I have been drawn to my knitting. I have been a busy little bee with so many projects! With all my hard work and diligence, I have been making leaps and bounds with my skills and feel that recently it "clicked". With my new projects, I have been learning to knit with double pointed needles, use sock yarn, change colors within a pattern, and learn the basics of crocheting! The end goal currently is to be able to make a sweater and do it well. This will be a huge under taking and a longer process than I am used to.

I've spent the morning updating my Ravelry project photos now that I've figured out a better way to do so.  It's hard to get excited about my finished projects and accomplishments when I have a page full of ghetto photos.

Here are a few of my recent projects:

Still plugging along with the BeeKeeper's Quilt. Hexipuffs are like crack!
Work in progress on bag.

Finished product!

Scarf WIP. Half way done with this one!

Yarn Love and Yen

I know I am supposed to be drawing and painting, but all I want to do is knit. As I am in the midst of a   yarn and knitting addiction (obsession) I decided to post a yarn color palette. Enjoy the sorbet deliciousness of these colors!

Treasury Tuesday

I stumbled upon this treasury and it instantly put a smile on my face. Which meant I had to share it with all of you! As a teacher and someone who treasures vintage items and craftsmanship, I immediately fell in love with this treasury! Thank you Alison from Hodge Podge Hobby Shop for curating this collection!

Succulents in Bloom

Pure happiness to me the joy of watching my plants grow more beautiful everyday!

As promised, here are pictures of my succulents now that they have started blooming! I am excited to say I have more on the way.  I have two planters calling me to plant more beauty in them. Lowes, here I come! Although I have only been sharing little snap shots, all this planting is part of a bigger picture and project. I am redoing my patio and hoping to create a little oasis in the desert I live in. I am not a big fan of cactus, but I sure love the hidden treasures that succulents have to offer. I'll see if I can post photos of the finished patio once it is complete. Thanks for your support!

No Treasury Today, Succulent News Instead

I am trying my hand at a succulent garden again. Hopefully I will have more success. In the corner are Blue Chalk Sticks and Sunrise Succulent, followed by assorted Echeveria. I was also delighted to find a flowering Purple Baby toe. When the blossoms open up, I will definitely be sharing more photos!
