Vine: Video App from iTunes

I decided to jump on the Vine video band wagon and joined this social media site. (Like so many other artists I've been seeing do it.) So often people are asking the "how" stuff is made in regards to my artwork and this gives a small peek into the life of an artist and can help answer the "how". Vine is an app offered on iTunes that is free. It offers you the opportunity to follow, like, and comment on the short videos people post.

Free Font!

I stumbled across two really cool fonts that I wanted to share. Both I found at FontSpace.com.

I love No Autority to use in my classroom. I love the bold block lettering with the paint splatter. Please note it only works capitalized. I found the letters didn't show up when I didn't push the shift button down.

Red Snapper is creative and whimsical. I'm seriously debating on changing my blog title font to this now! The curls make me happy.

Free Printable - Owl

 I was going through my prints and found this little owl. He seems lonely and I was wondering if you could help me by giving him a good home. Please leave a comment below telling me about his new home!

Owl Printable

I recommend printing on sturdy cardstock or matte art paper. It fits on a 8.5" x 11" printing paper.

And of course, this is for personal and not commercial use.

 Everything Etsy blog has done a great job collecting 101 free printables. They range from invitations, to vintage images, games, inspirational prints and the list goes on. 

 

Free Botanical Prints

I found over at Honey & Fritz a great post sharing a new resource on how to get free botanical prints form Botanicus.org which is a web-based encyclopedia. The article has instructions on how to use the site to print as well as real life examples used throughout the home. I think they would compliment any kitchen or bathroom as well.

Keeping with the running theme of summer traveling and vintage style, I found these stylish prints over at The Handmade Home. I love the colors and think they would make great bbq invitations or fun refrigerator  decor.

Free Printables, Vintage

I found this great site called Vintage Printable that allows you to do searches for images to print. I typed in blue and these were some of my favorite images that came up. As a kid I used to love studying illustrated science and geography books. To this day I still love looking through animal guide books checking out all the variety in nature and the world around me. If you share my love and would like to decorate your house with these images, please check out this site. I also added the link to the Resources page for future reference.

Free Prints from Indie Fixx!

Check out Feed Your Soul for cool prints by Indie artists. Jen Wallace of Indie Fixx states that she started this site because she feels that art feeds the soul and in these economic times art is not necessary for survival. I couldn't agree more!
